Brief Course Description:
English
Program is based on the BC curriculum and will improve Grade 1 to 12 students'
knowledge of listening, speaking, writing and reading. The program focuses on cultivating students'
interest in learning English, laying a strong foundation for their future
study, and helping them prepare for thesis writing and the provincial
examination.
Learning Objectives:
During this program, students will:
- Focus on variety of research skills
- Analyze different kinds of texts, including oral and visual texts along with critical thinking skills
- Recognize how language shapes personal, social and cultural identity and respond to texts in personal, creative and critical ways
- Transform ideas and information to create original texts
Express
an opinion and support it with credible evidences.

French Program
Brief Program Description:
French program is based on the BC curriculum, designed to improve grade 1 to 12 students’ ability in French listening, speaking, reading and writing; enhance students’ vocabulary and grammar, as well as learning the French cultural context.
Learning Objectives:
During the program, the students will:
- Grasp the linguistic and cultural variety found in the French-speaking world
- Distinguish between abstract notions and concrete notions within a text
- Identify and understand the social, historical, and cultural context of a work and its author
- Identify the themes and poetic elements of a text in order to understand the implicit message
Analyze the plot and examine and understand the role and evolution of a character in a literary short story

Mandarin Program
Brief Program Description:
The Mandarin program is designed for all beginners, intermediate and advanced learners in Grade 1 to 12. Beside the language basics, the Mandarin program also contains some studies of Chinese culture and history.
Learning Objectives:
During the program, the students will learn:
- Vocabulary, grammar, pronunciations and other language mechanics of Mandarin
- Reading, writing, speaking and listening using Mandarin
- The Chinese culture, including colloquialisms, cultural languages and events, and ideologies of Confucianism
- to read, analyze and comprehend Chinese poetry from the Tang Dynasty

Mathematics Program
Brief Program Description:
Mathematics program is based on the BC curriculum, mainly to improve grade 1 to 12 students' ability to solve mathematical problems with creativity and flexibility, to connect the knowledge learned to reality, and to create their own knowledge derived from information in class.
Learning Objectives:
During the program, the students will:
- Explore, analyze, and apply mathematical ideas using reason, technology, and other tools.
- Solve real-life problems with creative and flexible methods.
- Represent mathematical ideas in concrete, pictorial, and symbolic forms.
Derive new mathematical knowledge from information learned from the class.

Integrated Science Program
Brief Program Description:
Integrated Science program is based on the BC curriculum, designed to enhance grade 1 to 12 students’ knowledge of science, generation research questions and answers those questions using support from external evidence and/or experimental data.
Learning Objectives:
During the program, the students will:
- Demonstrate a sustained intellectual curiosity about a scientific topic or problem of personal interest
- Make observations aimed at identifying their own questions, including increasingly complex ones, about the natural world
- Formulate multiple hypotheses and predict multiple outcomes
Topics from physics, chemistry and biology will be included

Social Studies Program
Brief Program Description:
Social Studies program is based on the BC curriculum, designed to help students in grades 1 to 12 to analyze, comprehend social and historical events, as well as to develop their personal opinions towards these events using credible evidence.
Learning Objectives:
During the program, the students will:
- Read, analyze and comprehend materials of historical and social events, and ask new questions based on this material
- Do research on a question and give their own answers to the question with effective support of evidence.
Connect a social situation with the historical context and analyze how the two aspects interact.
